The SWU is open to the public, but for entering the campus, you need register your ID (or passport) and face in the Access Control System (the gatekeeper will help you). From Chongqing Jiangbei Airport (T2/T3) 

• Subway: Take Line 10 → Transfer to Line 6 at Hongtudi Station (红土地) → Get off at Beibei Station (北碚站). About 75–90 mins, 7 RMB.

• Taxi: Direct to Southwest University No. 5 Gate. About 35–40 mins, 60–70 RMB.

From Chongqing North Railway Station

• Subway: Take Line 10 → Transfer to Line 6 at Hongtudi Station (红土地) → Get off at Beibei Station (北碚站). About 66–80 mins, 7 RMB.

• Taxi: Direct to Southwest University No. 5 Gate. About 45 mins, 70 RMB.

• Bus: Take No. 558 to Southwest University No. 1 Gate. About 51–80 mins, 10 RMB (subject to traffic).

From Chongqing West Railway Station

• Subway: Take Loop Line → Transfer to Line 6 at Ranjiaba Station (冉家坝) → Get off at Beibei Station (北碚站). About 82 mins, 7 RMB.

• Taxi: Direct to Southwest University No. 5 Gate. About 45 mins, 70 RMB.

• Bus: Take No. 526 to Southwest University No. 1 Gate. About 65–80 mins, 10 RMB (subject to traffic).

From Shapingba Railway Station

• Subway: Take Loop Line → Transfer to Line 6 at Ranjiaba Station (冉家坝) → Get off at Beibei Station (北碚站). About 75 mins, 7 RMB.

• Taxi: Direct to Southwest University No. 5 Gate. About 60 mins, approx. 100 RMB (likely lower based on updated rates).

• Bus: Take No. 535 to Southwest University No. 1 Gate. About 53–70 mins, 10 RMB (subject to traffic).

Important Notes for Travelers

• Subway: The subway (Line 6) is the most cost-effective way to reach Beibei district . 

• Key transfer stations include Hongtudi (红土地 Lines 6 & 10) and Ranjiaba (冉家坝 Loop Line & Line 6)

• Taxi/Ride-hailing: Taxi fares in Chongqing start at 10 RMB for the first 3 kilometers (daytime). 

• It is recommended to use a ride-hailing app (like Didi) for a more accurate real-time price.

Note that taxis are only permitted to enter through Gate 5 and Gate 7 of Southwest University.
