近日,我中心蒋军利老师合作完成的一项研究成果Higher-Order Responsibility被国际人工智能顶级会议AAAI-26接受为大会主会论文。该成果主要针对群体决策机制中责任缺失的问题引入了“高阶责任”的概念。研究表明:在顺序决策机制中,尽管第一阶责任人可能不存在,但责任总会在不超过参与者数量的某个层级上被分配,从而避免了责任缺失。这为分析人工智能和多智能体系统中的责任归属与责任追究提供了严谨的分析框架。

摘要:在伦理学中,个人责任通常通过法兰克福的“替代可能性原则”来定义。但这种定义在群体决策情境中并不充分,因为它往往会导致没有明确的责任方或者出现“责任缺失”。解决这一问题的现有方法之一是考虑群体责任。另一种最近提出的办法是“高阶”责任。本文探讨了消除责任缺失需要的责任层级问题,并分析了这一问题的计算复杂性。

Abstract:In ethics, individual responsibility is often defined through Frankfurt’s principle of alternative possibilities. This definition is not adequate in a group decision-making setting because it often results in the lack of a responsible party or “responsibility gap”. One of the existing approaches to address this problem is to consider group responsibility. Another, recently proposed, approach is “higher-order” responsibility. The paper considers the problem of determining whether higher-order responsibility up to a given degree is sufficient to close the responsibility gap and analyses the computational complexity of this problem.
