Prof. Zhanglyu Li

Zhanglyu Li (Old spelling is Zhanglv Li) is a professor in Department of Philosophy, Southwest University. Currently, he is also the associate Chair of the Department of Philosophy, the vice director of ILI (Institute of Logic and Intelligence, Southwest University), and the head of the Teaching and Research Section of Logic at Southwest University.

He graduated as a PhD from the Nankai University in 2012, the PhD program was a joint program with Columbia University in the city of New York, and he studied one year as a PhD student at the Columbia University since August, 2011. He visited department of philosophy at Fudan University in 2015 for 1 year, and visited department of philosophy at Illinois State University in 2018 as a Visiting scholar for 10 months. 

In 2021, he has been promoted to Professor. 

He focuses on a range of issues in Philosophical Logic, Philosophy of Logic, Inductive Logic, Decision Theory, etc. In particular, focuses on topics in Bayesian Decision Theory. He has published close to 40 papers on journals like SyntheseJournal of Dialectics of NaturePhilosophical TrendsStudies in Philosophy of Science and TechnologyStudies in LogicPhilosophical Analysis, and so on.

As a principal investigator, he has conducted 20 projects, including school-funded, provincially funded, and nationally funded projects.

As a teacher, he offers many courses to undergraduates, graduates and PhD students like History of Western LogicPhilosophy of LogicModern Inductive Logic, Introduction to Logic, Logic of Decision, etc. He has got the award for Outstanding Teachers of Chongqing Normal University in 2013, the first prize in Teaching Competition of  Southwest University in 2022, and the second prize inTeaching Competition for the Universities of Chongqing in 2023.
